Vol. 16: My Personal, Lifelong Treasures

YusukeThis time, I've picked out some of my most personal "lifelong treasures" that I wear and use regularly. Rather than items that are purely practical and functionally beautiful (we'll cover those in the second installment), I've chosen luxurious classics that I incorporate into my everyday styling.

For something to be a "lifelong treasure," it must be something that can be replaced if it's clothing, or that can be worn for a long time with proper maintenance. This inevitably leads to long-selling items from brands with a rich history. This also means they are loved by many people over many years, and that longevity is the proof of a "lifelong treasure."

When I try out items that are said to be "lifelong treasures," I often wonder, "How are they really?" My honest impression is that they are all incredibly practical. First, they resist losing their shape. And because the designs are timeless, they never become tiresome. In other words, you realize their true value the more you use them.

These items offer fresh discoveries even when paired with the latest looks. They never feel out of place, even when attempting unexpected combinations. They act as a kind of insurance. Their timeless appeal is likely due to their survival through a long history. While it might be too simplistic to say they go with any style, it's precisely because their individual character is so well-established that they fit seamlessly into various outfits. I'm reminded anew that the true quality of a "lifelong treasure" lies in this very aspect.
