Vol. 3: Patterned Crewneck Sweaters [pæ'tərn swétər]
YusukeCrewneck sweaters are a staple of Ivy League style, and the combination of a button-down shirt and chinos is a classic in men's fashion. At around 16, when I was most impressionable, that rule was firmly ingrained in me, so I find myself reflexively thinking 'I want to wear that' whenever I see a crewneck sweater.
I usually tend to wear plain mohair or Shetland wool sweaters, but this autumn many brands have released interesting patterned sweaters, each so novel and fresh that I can't help but be drawn to them. For this selection, I've paired them with white button-down shirts.
While chinos would also work, in my personal styling, I'm opting for bleached denim pants. This year, I'm feeling more inclined towards pairing them with wide work pants rather than rigid five-pocket jeans.
PRADA|Prada
YusukeIt's superb how the digital-inspired graphics are rendered with an analog feel through warm coloring and chunky hand-knitting techniques. This piece perfectly embodies Prada's collection this season, skillfully incorporating 70s nuances. The raglan sleeves also make it comfortable to wear.
Saint Laurent|Saint Laurent
YusukeThis mohair knit has a slightly punk vibe with its long sleeves and multi-colored palette. While the quality of the mohair is exceptional, the slim silhouette ensures a surprisingly sleek fit when worn.
GUCCI|Gucci
YusukeThe cat motif is a real statement piece; anyone who can confidently wear this must be quite the connoisseur. The back features the message 'HOLLYWOOD.' This is a sweater I'd love to see the younger generation try.
FENDI|Fendi
YusukeAbove all, the mustard yellow color is stunning. The slightly imperfect red lettering of 'YELLOW' also adds impact and uniqueness. It would look great with the hem peeking out from under a longer top.
THOM BROWNE|Thom Browne
YusukeThis sweater, featuring a largely deconstructed argyle pattern, is packed with Thom Browne's signature details: wide ribbed cuffs, stripes on the left sleeve, slits, and finger holes on the cuffs. The traditional pattern is playfully twisted with these refined details.
MARNI|Marni
YusukeThe multi-stripe color palette is modern and appealing. This type of crewneck sweater pairs well with an authentic styling approach. To complement the vibrant colors, perhaps try pairing it with deep green pants.
DIOR HOMME|Dior Homme
YusukeThis is a cool piece, featuring the collection's messages and the maison's iconic roses, all asymmetrically arranged in jacquard. I'd like to wear this stoically, with a white shirt peeking out from the crewneck collar.

LOUIS VUITTON|Louis Vuitton
YusukeWhile Louis Vuitton's collaboration with Supreme has been a major talking point this season, the exceptionally high quality of the materials used in their apparel is equally noteworthy. Overall, it's a truly outstanding collection.
