MARGARET HOWELL HOUSEHOLD GOODS Opens

Designer,Margaret HowellThe first standalone shop for "MARGARET HOWELL HOUSEHOLD GOODS," a line of furniture, home products, and loungewear selected with designer Margaret Howell's discerning aesthetic, has opened on the 7th floor living floor of Matsuya Ginza. A vintage fair is being held until September 25th to commemorate the opening.

"I like to use materials of the same quality for nightwear as for men's and women's shirts. Pajamas are worn in direct contact with the skin, so I believe they need to be made of natural materials that are breathable and soft to the touch."Margaret Howell

Much like the appeal of British fabrics such as Harris Tweed, Irish linen, West Country flannel, cotton gabardine, moleskin, and corduroy, which serve as inspiration for Margaret Howell's designs, her household goods and curated British design products possess a nostalgic warmth. This first standalone shop, offering the full lineup of "Household Goods" including pre-sale and limited items, presents products that share the same excellence as Margaret Howell's clothing design philosophy.

Furthermore, until Tuesday, September 25th, a vintage fair is being held in a space adjacent to the store, featuring vintage furniture, tableware not usually available, and exclusive items for Matsuya Ginza.

Pre-sale exclusive Butterfly Chair and Anglepoise lamps recommended.

Kaori Hirayama, MD of Household Goods, commented, "Since opening on August 31st, we've seen many customers interested in the products, and I'm surprised by the number of knowledgeable individuals who engage in deep conversations, starting with vintage ceramics like 'POOLE' and kettles like 'Picquot Ware.' As it's located next to the Design Collection/Design Gallery on the 7th floor of Matsuya Ginza, many men also visit. As this is our first exclusive shop, please also pay attention to the carpets personally selected by Margaret herself, and the display units with legs designed to enhance the space."

Hirayama further added, "I recommend the custom-made 'Butterfly Chair' by Arco, and the 'TYPE-75 Yellow' by Anglepoise. The custom Butterfly Chair revives the original color palette released by founder Lucien Rollin in 1958. For Anglepoise, we've reproduced a color that Margaret still uses in her own home. It's a custom product where we went through multiple prototypes to achieve the precise yellow."

Don't miss the Sumally page!

To commemorate the opening of the first "Household Goods" shop, a Sumally page has been launched. Among those who follow Margaret Howell's account and mark any of the registered items as "want it" by Sunday, September 30th, 20 winners will be selected by lottery to receive either a collaboration enamel container with Noda Horo or a cotton ramie hand towel. While the Sumally page currently features a lineup primarily of interior accessories, furniture and other items are expected to be added soon.
