The lustrous, high-quality kanoko is lighter and more elegant than wool ties.
Kanoko fabric is generally used for casual items such as polo shirts. Doi Hōkōsho jointly developed with Shikibo a kanoko fabric from Shikishima Cotton Cloth that has the texture of a dress shirt.
The kanoko fabric, knitted from high-quality Egyptian cotton yarn, a representative of extra-long staple cotton, is characterized by its smooth texture, resistance to losing its shape, and supple feel. While generally using 40-ply yarn, this fabric uses finer 60-ply yarn. Furthermore, mercerization processing has been applied to achieve a silk-like luster.
The ties are finished in a domestic factory, possessing a moderate thickness and the characteristic texture of kanoko. They are lighter than wool ties and not as casual as knit ties, which is their appeal. They pair well not only with dress shirts but also with denim and chambray shirts, a spring trend.
Doi Hōkōsho strives to minimize the use of petroleum-based and chemical-based materials and products. Furthermore, all plastic accessories used to fasten collars and cuffs have been replaced with paper ones to reduce non-combustible waste.
They also support the activities of the environmental organization more treesmore treesas a corporate supporter.
