Knitwear with a Gentle Touch, Crafted with Scotland's Ultra-Soft Water
ESK
Knitwear is indispensable for the coming season. Among them, JOURNAL STANDARD Omotesando is focusing on "ESK," a knitwear brand based in southwestern Scotland.
With its high level of technical expertise, the company is trusted by many leading brands as a long-established knitwear factory. They meticulously select and use the finest yarns from around the world, including premium cashmere, merino, yak, camel, vicuña (a small camelid related to alpaca), and extra-fine wool and silk.
Its most distinctive feature is the use of Scotland's exceptionally pure, ultra-soft water in the finishing process, which further enhances the tactile quality of the natural fibers. This allows for a rich, substantial feel from the yarn combined with comfortable wear.
The designer, Lorraine Acornley, has a wealth of experience with numerous knitwear brands. She excels at creating beautiful lines inspired by the natural landscapes of Scotland, infusing them with a contemporary essence. Her creations are both basic and stylish, fitting seamlessly into modern fashion.

MENS | A design featuring elbow patches created by using different yarn colors. A thick, warm knit made from Scottish lamb's wool.
These knits, crafted with care from high-quality yarn, offer a refined texture and presence that will undoubtedly make your winter wardrobe more enjoyable.
A Knitwear Brand Carrying on Danish Tradition
ANDERSEN-ANDERSEN
This season, JOURNAL STANDARD Omotesando also recommends "ANDERSEN-ANDERSEN," a brand founded in 2009 by Danish couple Anders and Anne Andersen.
Denmark, a maritime nation, has a long history of thriving knitwear production. However, in recent years, the industry has been in decline due to a shortage of successors. Concerned by this situation, the Andersens established production in Jutland, using traditional knitting methods with the aim of preserving their country's heritage.

WOMENS | Despite its substantial mid-gauge texture, the slim fit allows for a sleek silhouette. Can be worn front or back.
The now-popular turtleneck, a staple item, was inspired by the garments traditionally worn by Danish sailors, fishermen, and hunters. The reversible design, which can be worn with either the front or back facing forward, embodies their practical ingenuity.
Made with the finest yarns using time-honored, labor-intensive techniques, these exquisite knits boast a simple design that transcends trends, making them a joy to wear for years to come.
