HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO | An Interview with Store Manager Mizoguchi: "My Store, My Charm for the Mature Man"
HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO
An Interview with Store Manager Hiroyuki Mizoguchi
What It Takes to Be a Specialty Store, Not Just a Department Store
This year marks the third anniversary of the store's opening in October, and Mr. Mizoguchi, the current store manager, was involved from the very beginning. He shared the reasons why the store consistently remains at the forefront of both the mode and basic styles essential for a mature wardrobe.

The Evolution of HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO Over Three Years
I myself was involved in the launch of HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO from 2010, and I've returned here again at this three-year anniversary. In the interim, I believe we've established a reputation among both fashion enthusiasts and businessmen that 'you can find appealing items here.'
The floor layout—with men's accessories for sophisticated business styles on the basement floor, luxury brands on floors 2-4, and trendy styles that are easy to incorporate on floors 5-7—remains the same as at the store's opening. However, a key attraction of HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO is its constant evolution.
On the basement floor, John Lobb and Santoni, considered pinnacles of shoe brands, have newly joined. On the second floor, Valentino, currently drawing much attention, has opened, and on the fourth floor, we are offering collaboration items such as Marni x Porter and Mackintosh Philosophy x Band of Outsiders.
However, I believe these collaborations signify a commitment to continuous renewal each season. Customers feel a sense of freshness and excitement from this, and we've seen a positive response and high expectations this autumn as well.
That's precisely why our purchasing staff diligently visits London, Florence, Milan, Paris, New York, and various locations within Japan every season to check for upcoming trends and new brands, discerning the subtle shifts of the times and the prevailing mood of fashion. The '3rd Anniversary Limited Edition Items' are a testament to these efforts.
The limited edition items feature a wide range of products, including mode-inspired sweatshirts with a relaxed, oversized feel, mid to low-gauge knits in natural materials like wool and cashmere, and even limited-edition colors for shoes from John Lobb. This collection, available only at HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO, appeals to both fashionistas and businessmen.

This year is not only the 3rd anniversary of HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO but also a special year as Yurakucho Marion celebrates its 30th anniversary. We hope you will check out the limited edition items befitting this commemorative anniversary year.
Over the past three years, HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO has cultivated its identity as a specialty store for unique items and experiences, rather than just a department store. Recently, not only men but also women have been visiting to select gift items. I believe this is proof that HANKYU MEN’S TOKYO is recognized as 'my personal store for the sophisticated adult.'
