Tracing British Modern Classics into Daily Life

This season's Margaret Howell is characterized by a monochrome style with a refreshingly relaxed fit. Among these, the white shirt, which forms the foundation of all outfits, is an item to repurchase each season. This one is made from 100% smooth Swiss cotton and designed with a longer length. The low collar stand and short collar points are unique to this brand. We want to enjoy an airy early autumn look by pairing it with wool trousers that fall straight down and a matching British-made polka dot scarf.

We also want to draw attention to the way the suits are worn. The 2-button jacket, tailored from dogtooth fabric by Fox Brothers, features a boxy silhouette and a well-balanced short length. The trousers, which can be enjoyed as a set, have a slightly loose fit around the waist but draw an exquisite tapered line. Pair with a wide-brimmed felt hat for an artist-like British grey ensemble.

Using Shirts More Effectively

The pencil stripe suit from another esteemed British brand, Fox Brothers, is worn tone-on-tone. While the collection look suggests pairing it with a shirt, we recommend layering knitwear to take advantage of the warm texture of the suit. The knit vest is a mid-gauge cashmere blend, and the knit cardigan is a special order from John Smedley.

An autumnal coordination that modernizes a British country style with earthy color combinations. It's interesting to add a check shirt in a subdued tone to such an outfit. Using original cotton fabric linked to this season's key color, brown, it's tailored into a slightly tight silhouette that's easy to wear. Finished with the robust simplicity derived from workwear, without unnecessary embellishments.

This Season's Collaboration Items

Margaret Howell meticulously selects the most suitable factories in each production country for its items, enhancing the precision of its product craftsmanship. The brand continues its collaborations with brands originating in Britain, such as 'John Smedley' and 'Fox Brothers'.

One of the standout items is the collaboration with 'Tricker's'. This Northampton-based British shoemaker is highly popular among fashion enthusiasts for its robust Goodyear welted construction and voluminous form.

Designed as a straight-tip shoe using thick, pebbled calf leather, it is released in black and brown. The Dainite sole, which provides peace of mind even in rainy weather, is also practical.
