30% of T-shirt Sales Donated
The "ACQUA FOR LIFE PROJECT" was jointly initiated last year by the Armani Group and the international NGO Green Cross International. For every bottle of the fragrance "ACQUA DI GIO" sold, 100 liters of drinking water have been delivered annually to regions like Ghana and Bolivia, where drinking water is scarce.
A key focus of the project is the "Smart Water for Green Schools" initiative, which aims to establish systems enabling schools to provide drinking water to their students. According to a UN report, millions of study hours are lost annually because children suffer from illnesses caused by water and sanitation issues or spend excessive time fetching water.
Giorgio Armani received dozens of heartfelt drawings from children in the regions supported by this initiative, each expressing their gratitude. Consequently, a collection of charity T-shirts for men and women, featuring these very illustrations, has been planned for release.
These iconic T-shirts, combining white and aqua blue to symbolize a bright future, will see 30 percent of their retail price donated to fund the "Smart Water for Green Schools" program. In the US, donations will go to UNICEF, while in other countries, they will be channeled through Green Cross International from the Italian headquarters.
These T-shirts are already available on the Emporio Armani online stores in Japan, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. In Japan, they will be sold at a retail price of 6,600 yen starting March 16 (Friday). The men's collection will be available at all 16 directly managed stores, while the women's collection will be launched at select stores, including the Aoyama, Ginza, and Kobe branches.
