Swiss luxury clockmaker L’EPEE, founded in 1839, is releasing its 2022 new model, the "TIME FAST" Chrome-Plated Limited Edition, inspired by 1950s F1 racing cars. Available at authorized retailers nationwide, it comes in two variations: silver chrome and gold chrome, each limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, making them exceptionally rare items.

The new 2022 "TIME FAST" model is inspired by 1950s F1 racing cars, presented as a limited edition that merges kinetic sculpture with contemporary timekeeping. It was designed in collaboration with Georg Foster, ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne), and L'EPEE.

It faithfully captures the details of 1950s F1, including the long, extended engine hood, iconic radiator grille, large spoked wheels, rear seating arrangement, and sloped tail. The engine movement features an in-house caliber with an 8-day power reserve, oscillating at 18,000 vibrations per hour.

The engine is composed of a tiered movement developed to fit the car's curves, with a driver seated in the cockpit and a glass dome-shaped helmet accentuating the escapement's sound. Winding the mainspring is done once a week by reversing the wheels to supply power.

The hours and minutes are displayed on the sides through an opening shaped like a racing number, via two engraved SS discs. Time is set using a steering wheel designed with three spokes.

Like a true racing car, the "TIME FAST" undergoes manual polishing, satin finishing, and sandblasting on every component, from the aluminum body down to the smallest parts measured in millimeters.

The movement plates forming the chassis are designed to evoke the engine blocks of vintage racing cars, with meticulous attention to detail. The radiator grille is openwork, and dual exhausts enhance the sense of motorsport speed, while the tires are fitted with soft rubber for superior grip.
