The first installment of the Aman Fine Fragrance Collection features five Eaux de Parfum.
Created by renowned perfumer Jacques Chabert, the "Fine Fragrances" were born to offer a "sensory journey." The collection comprises five gender-neutral scents, each inspired by Aman properties in Thailand, Indonesia, Italy, Morocco, and New York. These fragrances evoke the feeling of staying at an Aman resort in their respective destinations.
Architect Kengo Kuma, who also designed the bottles for "Aman Skincare" launched in 2018, lent his expertise to the fragrance bottles. Like Aman, he deeply understands the relationship between nature and design, respecting symbiosis with the environment. The bottles use colors carefully selected to draw inspiration from the environment and culture of the land each scent symbolizes, visually representing Aman's destinations.
Furthermore, the fragrance bottles are housed in Japanese paulownia wood boxes, each featuring a unique laser-cut pattern on the lid. Paulownia, one of the fastest-growing trees, is also known as a sustainable material. The packaging also utilizes Japanese Takeo paper.
The scents themselves are diverse. "VAYU," meaning "wind" in Sanskrit and inspired by Amanpuri in Thailand, evokes the sensation of sun-warmed skin and the freshness of summer, with sweet floral notes and citrus undertones.
"UMBR," meaning "shadow" in Latin and inspired by the splendor of Aman Venice, layers the richness of oak and leather with spices to express the opulence and history of Venice, enveloped in a veil of fragrance.
Additionally, "ZUAC," meaning "mixed colors" in Berber and inspired by the landscapes of Morocco's red city and ancient medina, and "AYOM," meaning "haven" in Indonesian with its dramatic and complex aroma, are also available.
The scent of Aman New York, set to open in Spring 2021, is also introduced. "ALTA," meaning "high" in Latin, is inspired by the history of New York's architecture and the city's commanding skyline.
Two new fragrances will be added to the collection in Spring 2021, and these "Aman scents" are scheduled to be sold at Aman properties in Japan. Discover your favorite scent and embark on a fragrant journey.
