Crystals born from the dialogue between an artist and glass. An exhibition by the blown-glass studio "Studio Prepa" begins | CURATOR’S CUBE
CURATOR’S CUBE
Approximately 50 works, primarily primitive pieces reminiscent of antique mineral specimens.
Studio Prepa, a blown-glass studio run by the husband-and-wife team Katsuhisa and Mizuho Hira, operates from their studio in Kamiina District, Nagano Prefecture, handling all processes from design to production themselves. Having received high acclaim internationally with solo exhibitions in the United States, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea, they are now exploring new forms of expression, which will be unveiled at Curator's Cube in Nishi-Shimbashi starting Friday, July 13th.

An accumulation of accumulated skill and sensibility. Works that embody both strength and beauty.
Studio Prepa is a blown-glass studio established in 1999. Based in Kamiina District, Nagano Prefecture, they consistently handle everything from design to production with their refined skills and delicate sensibility. Their vessels, which frankly express form (function) and material texture, have garnered high praise both domestically and internationally. While previous exhibitions have focused on functional pieces like tableware and lampshades, this exhibition will feature around 50 primitive (meaning original and simple) objects.
The venue is Curator's Cube, a gallery space operated by Landscape Products. The works, which express the inherent qualities of glass that the Hira couple has observed, learned, and felt throughout their extensive careers, are reminiscent of antique mineral specimens (made of glass). We invite you to experience the strength and beauty born from the artists' unceasing dialogue with glass.
