MARUHIRO

From the brink of bankruptcy to a V-shaped recovery, MARUHIRO is now a leading Hasami ware manufacturer. A decade of its journey captured in a 720-page volume.

Hasami ware boasts a history of 400 years. MARUHIRO, which develops tableware and interior goods while inheriting this tradition, celebrated the 10th anniversary of its brand establishment in 2020. "MARUHIRO BOOKS," a volume summarizing its journey with a special binding, has been published.

In 2008, Shohei Baba joined MARUHIRO, a company on the verge of collapse, at his father's request. The 24-year-old worked tirelessly to rebuild the company and launched the original brand "HASAMI" in 2010, which became an unprecedented hit. The company, having achieved a V-shaped recovery, has expanded beyond being just a ceramic manufacturer, opening the private park "HIROPPA" in 2021, which has garnered significant attention.
"MARUHIRO BOOKS" is a volume that compiles the 10 years since the launch of its original brand. It consists of two parts: "BOOK01: Product and Artist Collaboration," which visually showcases items and projects, and "BOOK02: Encyclopedia of MARUHIRO," a compendium of terms related to MARUHIRO. It spans an impressive 720 pages.
To commemorate the publication of this book, an exhibition titled "MARUHIRO's Past and Future" is being held at happa in Nakameguro. It features an archive exhibition aligned with the content of "MARUHIRO BOOK," alongside displays of experimental new items and upcoming projects. We invite you to experience the charm of Hasami ware and the company's passion.
