Three types of wine glasses and two types of decanters from "Sydonios," a wine glass brand favored by French classified châteaux and prestigious houses, have begun to be handled in Japan.

Wine glasses from the French luxury wine glass brand "Sydonios" are now officially available in Japan. Although Sydonios is a new brand, founded in 2018, it has already become a topic of conversation within the French industry. This is because 40 out of 61 classified châteaux in Bordeaux, the pinnacle of wine regions, and over 100 Champagne houses have adopted them as tasting glasses.

Furthermore, the glasses were featured in the British wine magazine "Decanter," making them a focus for top tasters worldwide.

The key features are the glass shape, thinness, and lightness that make wine taste its best. Through joint research with the University of Bordeaux, which conducts cutting-edge wine research, they derived the "golden ratio" for the height and maximum diameter of the bowl, and the diameter of the rim. This was further validated through tasting tests by over 100 professionals. The glasses, weighing less than 100 grams and so thin they are called "invisible glasses," are realized through mouth-blowing techniques by artisans from the renowned Bohemia region of the Czech Republic.

Made from lead-free crystal glass, they maintain their brilliance for years without clouding.

The three types available in Japan are the "L'Universel," a versatile glass suitable for a wide range of wines including sparkling, white, rosé, sweet, and delicate red styles; the "Le Restet," for robust, tannic red wines; and the "Le Subtil," which enhances the expression of wines with rich aromas and delicate flavors.
