Introducing "IMMERSION," an original glass designed exclusively for sparkling Japanese sake, "awa sake." Supervised by renowned French sommelier Philippe Jammes, each glass is handcrafted, embodying a "bubble glass" that leverages Japan's traditional craftsmanship.

Sparkling Japanese sake, "awa sake," is crafted using advanced techniques like secondary fermentation in the bottle, building upon traditional sake-making methods. The "IMMERSION" glass, developed by the awa sake Association—an organization founded by brewers of this awa sake—is now available from Kimoto Glass, a long-established maker of glassware.

The rounded form, which seems to overturn conventional notions of glassmaking, was conceived by Philippe Jammes, a distinguished sommelier who served as head sommelier at the two-Michelin-starred restaurant "Château Les Crayères" in Champagne. As each piece is handmade, only a limited number of artisans in Japan can craft this glass using traditional Edo glass techniques. Through repeated trial and error, a universal form was perfected.

"IMMERSION," symbolizing the earth, yin and yang environments that surround us, and life itself, means "immersion." The bottom of the rounded glass features a V-shaped line, which, when awa sake is poured, creates a balanced vortex within the glass, allowing for a vertical "immersion" and the formation of beautiful bubbles.

The rim of the glass gently tapers inward, allowing aromas to fill the glass, while the thin lip that touches the lips enhances the delicate flavors.

The "IMMERSION" glass combines a slender, elegant stem that fits comfortably in the hand with a beautiful, wind-chime-like shape. Bubbles dance freely and energetically, allowing for an exquisite diffusion of flavors. It adds a unique presence and a touch of glamour to the table, distinct from traditional flute glasses.
