PAPIER LABO. offers original products, focusing on stationery. One of its signature items is the "PEN CAN SERIES" tinplate pencil case. Now, they are releasing the "COPPER CAN," a new iteration made from copper.

PAPIER LABO.'s popular item, the "PEN CAN," is a tinplate pencil case crafted by a long-established can manufacturer in Asakusa.

PAPIER LABO. proposed a copper version of the "PEN CAN," but the material, being soft and prone to discoloration through oxidation, made can production difficult. The skilled artisans flatly refused the request. However, the designer's passion was unyielding, and after much trial and error, the "COPPER CAN" was finally completed.

This is an object of pure, refined beauty. Compared to the "PEN CAN," it is shorter and can hold clips or other desk items. Its excellent seal and copper's inherent antibacterial properties make it ideal for storing tea leaves. While it appears there's a single line dividing the lid and body, this is achieved through sandblasting, serving as an accent within its minimalist form. The discoloration that comes with age will undoubtedly add to its character.
