Avant-Garde Italian Flair

The "SEIKO Astron" first debuted in 2012 as a groundbreaking model in the new era of GPS solar radio-controlled watches, receiving signals from GPS satellites to automatically adjust the time. It carries the name of the original "Astron," the world's first quartz watch that shook the watch industry in 1969, heralding a "second watch revolution."

The second-generation "8X Series" models, which are smaller and feature a chronograph mechanism, are currently available. Now, there's even bigger news: a limited edition model from Giugiaro Design, led by the master designer,Giorgetto Giugiarois set to be released for the Astron.

The design concept is "avant-garde." The active indices and the case back, inspired by car wheels, showcase the distinctive styling of Giugiaro Design, renowned for its automotive designs. The black bracelet features white lines, evoking the speed of a sports car. The dial and the stitching on the interchangeable crocodile strap are accented with the three colors of the Italian flag—red, white, and green—adding a perfect touch of Italian design.

This collaboration model is a rare timepiece, with a worldwide limited edition of only 5,000 units, and is scheduled for release in early July 2015.
