In light of the ongoing efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus, partitions and dividers have garnered significant attention. Among them, the tabletop partition SASAU shikaku<cut&paste> stands out with its ingenious concept. We delve into this new series, a collaboration with graphic designer Ayame Ohno, which positively redefines the act of partitioning.

SASAU (meaning 'to support') was introduced as a tabletop partition designed to create workspaces within living areas, supporting the balance between work and life. It has since released the kaku, maru, and shikaku series. By using partitions, individuals can shift their mindset, control their line of sight, and enhance their concentration.

Introducing the Tabletop Partition SASAU with shikaku<cut&paste> | SASAU

This philosophy—that partitioning should evolve into a more positive tool—is the driving force behind SASAU. Developed by Nihon Copack and the cross-border design collective NAD (NIKKEN ACTIVITY DESIGN lab), and now joined by graphic designer Ayame Ohno, SASAU shikaku<cut&paste> was born.

The acrylic panels, adorned with unique graphic patterns, can be used individually according to one's mood or the season, or layered together for a customized aesthetic.

By gently controlling the line of sight, it allows for focused concentration or relaxation, creating a space tailored to your needs. It's as if you can cut and paste elements into your space, bringing new layers and perspectives to your daily life.

The designs come in five types: Fog, Splash, Bubble, Concentrate, and Balloon.
