A table lamp that casts a gentle indirect light

YAMAGIWA, known for curating high-quality, exceptional lighting fixtures from around the world, has been releasing lighting series featuring masterpieces by Frank Lloyd Wright since 1994. The "TALIESIN™ 4" from the Frank Lloyd Wright Collection Series will be released on Friday, January 30th.

Named after a Welsh poet

The "TALIESIN™ 4" table lamp is based on the "TALIESIN™ 2," an improved version of the "TALIESIN™ PENDANT" designed by Frank Lloyd Wright himself when the theater at his Taliesin Fellowship's Hillside Home School was rebuilt after a fire in 1952.

"TALIESIN" is the collective name for the estate in Spring Green, Wisconsin, where Wright built his home, studio, school, and other structures. The name "TALIESIN" was chosen in honor of the Welsh poet Taliesin, as Wright's maternal grandfather had emigrated from Wales to America.

Cherokee Red: A Signature of Frank Lloyd Wright

Compared to the "TALIESIN™ 3" table lamp, which was created in a more compact size to suit Japanese living spaces with approval from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, the "TALIESIN™ 4" stands at a more compact 512mm in height. It can be enjoyed not only as a table lamp but also on side tables or by the bedside, allowing you to experience the light of a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed fixture in any space.

The light, controlled by a box enclosing the light source, is directed upwards and downwards, and further reflected by a baffle, creating a comfortable indirect illumination. The baffle can be positioned either above or below the box; when placed below, it functions as an uplight, directing light more strongly upwards.

The square red motif seen on the Taliesin's column is Cherokee Red, a color Wright favored. This square red symbol was also used as a mark on blueprints from Wright's studio.
