New Knives Arrive in Collaboration with Maruwakaya to Commemorate 80th Anniversary


All-Stainless Steel Knives "SABURO" – Four Models Released


With the concept "Create The Future," returning to TOYO KITCHEN STYLE's rootsTOYO KITCHEN STYLE, founded in 1934 as "Toyo Cutlery Manufacturing," a maker of Western-style stainless steel tableware, has released two series, totaling four models, of its "SABURO" stainless steel knives, harkening back to the brand's origins, to commemorate its 80th anniversary.

80 Years of History Expressed in Two Models


The revival model "SABURO 'Origin'" is a reproduction from the company's founding, a renaissance to its origins, while "SABURO 'Element'," directed by Maruwakaya and designed by Osamu Saruyama, expresses the trajectory from its inception to the present. They appeal to TOYO KITCHEN STYLE's past, present, and future.

The Beautifully Machined Stainless Steel Handle of the "Element"


"SABURO 'Origin'," the very beginning that forged TOYO KITCHEN STYLE's history, faithfully follows the design of its time. The handle from the founding era has been completely reproduced, and a Santoku knife is used for the blade. It combines the ease of grip and lightness of use from the past with modern usability.

"SABURO 'Element'" is a collaboration with Maruwakaya, which also handles overseas projects for Arita Ware, celebrating its 400th anniversary in 2016. This series is newly designed by integrating the "Elements" of the current TOYO KITCHEN STYLE. The handle, while creating a sharp impression, is a modified pentagon calculated for ease of grip. The cutting edge uses SG-2 powder stainless steel, a superior material.
