citruss GALLERY&STORE | Shinichiro Nakamura's Kyushu Craft Hub
A new hub for Kyushu crafts opens on the 5th floor of Fukuoka Parco's new building.
Fukuoka Parco's new building, opening on November 13 (Thursday) in Tenjin, Fukuoka, will feature a captivating array of shops and spaces. Among them, "citruss GALLERY&STORE" will launch, dedicated to curating and presenting the crafts and products born in Kyushu, along with the essence of the region itself.

The theme of "citruss GALLERY&STORE" is "Craftsmanship Begins Here." By introducing various creators, the store aims to foster interest in the making process and present a spectrum of possibilities. The store's name is a portmanteau of "citrus," referencing Kyushu's status as a citrus-producing region, and "truss," alluding to architectural truss structures. This combination embodies a desire to connect Kyushu more deeply, like placing a roof over it.
Shinichiro Nakamura (from Kagoshima Prefecture), President of Landscape Products, known for his energetic ventures including the interior shop "Playmountain," the cafe "Tas Yard," the coffee stand "BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR COFFEE KIOSK," and most recently, the Vietnamese noodle shop "Pho 321 Noodle bar," is producing this new store. Expectations are high for a space that fully showcases his unique perspective, cultivated through his boundless activities.
The opening exhibition, "MIGRATION: A Journey of Temperature to Kyushu with BRICK&MORTAR," will be held. Curated by the select shop "BRICK&MORTAR," led by artist Shu Murakami, it proposes a way of "looking at culture." The exhibition will feature and sell original tableware, including ceramics and lacquerware made in Kyushu, alongside imported select items and one-of-a-kind global finds (for interiors, tableware, kitchens, stationery, and cosmetics), as well as works by Murakami himself.
This store, poised to become a landmark for both Kyushu's craftspeople and buyers, is set to amplify interest in the region's crafts, which has been growing in recent years. We highly recommend a visit during your next trip to Fukuoka.
