Fukuoka Hosts "Reunion - KOICHI FUTATSUMATA・E&Y collection -"

Koichi Futatsumata, a spatial and product designer, first presented a coat hanger in Milan in 2007, followed by a shoe stool designed for an apparel brand in 2013. The acclaimed Japanese furniture label E&Y has re-edited these two products to present them as a new collection.

The "4FB" is a coat hanger constructed by interlocking four flat bars of solid aluminum. The flat bars, extending vertically, possess an sculptural presence while functioning as a hanger, embodying a rational beauty.

Revisiting two of Koichi Futatsumata's signature works, both globally acclaimed, for E&Y.

For this re-edition, the finishes have been updated to polished and vibrated textures. Furthermore, the assembly components have been refined to a more minimalist size.

The shoe stool, originally named "SHOE STOOL," was designed as a limited-edition anniversary item for the fashion brand "FUJITO." It garnered international attention as a product that condensed the series of actions—putting on shoes, tying laces, brushing—into a single form, with a compartment for necessary tools.

Following accolades such as the "Wallpaper* DESIGN AWARDS" in the UK, it was released in 2014 by the Italian furniture brand "OPINION CIATTI" with a different finish. After this journey, E&Y is now re-releasing it under the new name "GO." This version closely matches the specifications of the original "SHOE STOOL," making it welcome news for those who missed the opportunity the first time around.

From September 18th to September 26th, "Reunion - KOICHI FUTATSUMATA・E&Y collection -" will be held at "Directors," FUJITO's flagship store, showcasing both "4FB" and "GO."
