In 2011, "TOOLS" (Kodansha), an ultimate lifestyle catalog with the concept of "tools for creating living, eating, and housing," proposed a value system for living that was not swayed by trends or consumption, sparking a major movement.
The second installment, published the following year, was sold in nine countries including the United States, Germany, and France, and received a great response both domestically and internationally. In 2019, the long-awaited third installment in the series was published by "AKATSUKI PRESS / Okura Publishing" for the first time in seven years.

Members of the creative community "MOUNTAIN MORNING," centered around interior stylist Fumiko Sakurahara, carefully selected tools for creating living, eating, and housing, compiling them into a substantial volume of 353 items.

It is said that "TOOLS" is an attempt to archive the thoughts and philosophies of creators who convey the message of "creating daily life" through their tools, and to pass on the values of the era to the future through the tool of a "book." Every tool has a creator. We hope you will read it while imagining the figures and stories behind them.
