Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, considered the world's first department store, has continuously discovered and promoted global culture. This year, celebrating 90 years of Franco-Japanese cultural cooperation, Japan has been chosen as the theme country for a special exhibition, "Le Japon Rive Gauche."

Among the more than 100 brands showcasing contemporary "Japan" across fashion, food, living, and art on an unprecedented scale, WASARA, with its "Paper Vessels That Nourish the Soul," has been selected as part of the tableware segment.

WASARA's paper plates, with their elegant forms that highlight the delicacy of the food and enhance the grace of those who hold them, draw their inspiration from the aesthetic sensibilities and values passed down through generations in Japan.

Made from pulp derived from bamboo and the fibrous residue of sugarcane known as "bagasse," rather than wood pulp, these vessels are environmentally friendly. Their handcrafted texture is so appealing that one hesitates to discard them after a single use.

The collection includes a wide range of items such as square plates, round plates, bowls, compotes, as well as wine glasses, coffee cups, tumblers, and bamboo cutlery, allowing for enjoyment of the WASARA world according to various needs.

Furthermore, WASARA will be used as the tableware for the cuisine served to guests at the opening party of the special exhibition, to be held within Le Bon Marché on Tuesday, September 2nd.

WASARA aims to convey the excellence of Japanese craftsmanship, rooted in superior technology, and to create paper vessels, though disposable, that express the heart. This exhibition presents a perfect opportunity to showcase this spirit of "omotenashi" (hospitality) to the world.
