New disc-shaped sharpener and eraser join the "UFO Series"
Faber-Castell, the venerable German writing instrument manufacturer, is launching the "UFO Sharpener" and "UFO Eraser" to complement its popular "UFO Perfect Pencil" model. They will be available nationwide in department stores and specialty writing instrument shops from mid-September.

Combining playful design with practical functionality
Faber-Castell, known as the world's oldest writing instrument maker with over 250 years of history, was founded in 1761 by Kaspar Faber, a furniture craftsman, in a suburb of Nuremberg, Germany.
In 1851, the hexagonal design, now the standard for pencils, was introduced, and the "length, thickness, and hardness" of this pencil became the global standard. Today, in addition to pencils, the company boasts a diverse range of products including colored pencils, drawing materials, office writing instruments, and fountain pens.
It has been favored not only by artists and writers such as Vincent van Gogh but also by the global fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. The company continues to produce supreme writing instruments that captivate professionals from all fields. One of the series from this renowned writing instrument maker is the "UFO Series."
The centerpiece of the "UFO Series" is the "UFO Perfect Pencil." This is a pencil with an aluminum extender, designed for more casual, everyday use of the brand's highest-end model, the "Perfect Pencil" from the Graf von Faber-Castell Collection. The extender features an end cap shaped like a UFO and has a built-in sharpener.
It also includes an eraser at the tip, making it a perfect item that combines the three functions of "writing," "erasing," and "sharpening," and it has been well-received.
Debuting from this series in mid-September are the "UFO Sharpener" and "UFO Eraser." True to their "UFO" name, these items are designed with a playful flying saucer motif.
Naturally, they retain the superior usability and high practicality that are hallmarks of Faber-Castell, making them exquisite pieces that will satisfy discerning adults.
To coincide with the launch of these new items, the "UFO Perfect Pencil Complete Set," which includes all items from the "UFO Series," and the "UFO Perfect Pencil Gift Set," containing three pencils in a box, will also be released.
