THE SECOND AID: A Disaster Preparedness Kit Filled with Essential Items and Information
Born from the experience of overcoming the Tohoku earthquake, THE SECOND AID disaster preparedness kit, which gathers truly essential items for disaster-stricken areas, has been completed through joint development by design firm NOSIGNER and Sendai City's Kohshin Shoji. This kit reflects NOSIGNER's "OLIVE" (http://www.olive-for.us/), a wiki site launched 40 hours after the Great East Japan Earthquake to collect and share effective knowledge for disaster situations.

Includes a Booklet Compiling Information from the OLIVE Wiki Site
The packaging for THE SECOND AID disaster preparedness kit, unified in white with red lettering, is designed with the image of a first-aid box that can help save oneself in times of need.
The wiki site "OLIVE," named "O (Hinomaru) + LIVE (to live)" with the wish "Live, Japan," gathers ideas and information for surviving with everyday items and for creating necessary items when supplies are scarce in disaster-stricken areas. With the cooperation of volunteers, the site has been translated into English, Chinese, and Korean, and continues to expand as a database utilizing collective intelligence.
Furthermore, "OLIVE BOOK" is a book that reorganizes the information gathered on the "OLIVE" wiki site. It compiles useful disaster preparedness information with easy-to-understand illustrations into a single volume.
THE SECOND AID disaster preparedness kit includes an A4-sized booklet excerpted from "OLIVE BOOK," summarizing essential information for disaster situations. It is a compact box filled with useful items and information for emergencies. It is currently available for purchase on the online retail site Amazon.
