Dove-Motif Object "duva"
Ceramic artist Lisa Larson, who continues to be energetically active at 83 years old, has recently focused on collaborations with Hasami ware from Nagasaki Prefecture. For this collection, she chose the "dove," a motif she has shaped many times before. The result is an object that embodies Lisa's ideal form through this collaboration.

Production by Nishiyama Pottery of Nagasaki Prefecture, with 150 Years of History
This is the second collaboration between Lisa Larson and Hasami ware. As with the previous one, the Osaka-based interior shop "dieci" served as the bridge between Lisa and Hasami, with production handled by Nishiyama Pottery of Nagasaki Prefecture, an establishment with approximately 150 years of history.
While the "dove" motif has been produced in various forms before, this collaboration involved a re-evaluation of traditional design and functionality. The outcome is a product with a simple form yet multifaceted applications, serving as a sugar bowl, milk pitcher, vase, or candle holder.
Furthermore, the dove's tail acts as a grip, and the beak, angled precisely, allows for smooth pouring of milk, demonstrating a clear improvement in functionality.
According to Shoichi Tamaru, representative of dieci, "Following Lisa's strong wishes, we once again commissioned Nishiyama Pottery for production. This time, we consulted with mold artisans, and were able to create an object that satisfied Lisa. She is very pleased with it."
The appealing aspects also include an accessible price point and a range of colors designed for various tabletops. As the motif is a bird symbolizing peace, it is sure to be a welcome gift for any age, perfect for celebrations or as a token of goodwill.
