Measure time as you measure length

Regarding nendo's original brand "by | n," Oki Sato explains the concept: "Because they are items used daily, we want to respond to needs that naturally arise in life, such as improving usability or creating designs that are enjoyable just to look at. We hope it becomes a brand that gently encompasses everyday life. We want people to experience emotions they've surely felt in their daily lives through items imbued with a small sense of surprise."

The "draftsman" collection, released this time, is named after the "drafting tools" used by draftsmen who handle precise blueprints and drawings.

The first release, "scale," features markings laid out with a "ruler-like" image. Furthermore, the "ruler-like" quality is emphasized by printing the markings directly onto the glass, rather than the dial. "The aim was to create a tool that allows users to measure time with the same sense they use to measure the length of things."

As "draftsman" also means "one who drafts," the design intention is explained as: "Hoping that it will serve as a catalyst for users to conceive something from scratch, we deliberately left the dial blank and untouched."
