Birth of "Paper Material Accessories" from Japan
TRADITIONAL AND ART = TRART―TRART is a brand that proposes a lifestyle through creations blending art with tradition. Its first product line, handmade accessories using "Mizuhiki" (traditional Japanese cord), has arrived. They will be exhibited at "Creators Showcase 2014," held from Wednesday, June 18th, at the Creators Showcase event space on the 7th floor of Matsuya Ginza.

TRART was established this year by four individuals from diverse fields, united by the goal of creating products that fuse Japanese traditions, customs, and aesthetics with a sense of art. Their first collection is finally ready for release.
The Mizuhiki used in the handmade accessories is made from a "koyori" – twisted paper strands – wrapped with fine thread. Delicate and beautiful, it offers a lightness and vibrancy unique to paper, qualities difficult to achieve with metal. The tension created by the single line conveys a refined and distinct presence.
A natural coating enhances the paper's durability, a common weakness, while preserving its texture. The finish is water-repellent and resistant to dirt.
This exhibition, "Creators Showcase 2014," introduces new designs that capture the spirit of the times and creations designed for enduring appeal. The TRART accessories are presented as items that convey the maker's passion, possess superior quality, and exhibit a playful touch.
