Cultivating New Traditions with Parisians

Crafted objects, honed over long periods through creators' engagement with their times and relentless ingenuity, possess an intrinsic quality that transcends borders and eras. Maruwakaya believes that "beauty communicates without words, but the true charm of an object is only discovered through continued use."

At "NAKANIWA," opening now, we will present carefully selected items imbued with the spirit of the 21st century, designed to be integrated into the daily lives of Parisians. Our aim is to create a space where Japan's beautiful, future-oriented traditional craftsmanship and its proud culture can meet the world.

Located in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district of Paris's 6th arrondissement, a historic hub for cultural dissemination, the building itself is quintessentially Parisian. Yet, stepping inside, one is greeted by a warm, inviting space with wood and white as its primary elements, transporting visitors to a Japanese gallery.

Based on thorough research into the preferences and criteria of local tastes, items will be selected to seamlessly blend with French lifestyle culture and be cherished locally.

Staff with extensive product knowledge will handle customer interactions, fostering active communication to develop an item selection that better meets customer needs.
