Makoto Tanijiri: Workshop to Consider the Possibilities of New Photo Frames
IMA CONCEPT STORE, a multifaceted space designed to make enjoying art photography more accessible, opened in March this year within the AXIS Building, a design hub in Roppongi. The store will host a workshop, "Workshop to Consider the Possibilities of New Photo Frames," led by architect Makoto Tanijiri, over two days: Thursday, June 12, and Thursday, June 26.

Considering the Form of Photo Frames with Makoto Tanijiri
IMA CONCEPT STORE fluidly divides its space into three distinct zones: a gallery, a bookstore, and a cafe. It frequently hosts seminars and events featuring photographers, notable figures, and corporations.
This workshop, "Workshop to Consider the Possibilities of New Photo Frames," is designed for photographers, gallerists, curators, architects, product designers (or aspiring ones), art enthusiasts, and collectors. It will be conducted over two sessions.
The first session, on Thursday, June 12, will begin with a lecture by Makoto Tanijiri on the theme of "The Form of New Photo Frames." Following a brainstorming session based on several examples, participants will individually devise ideas for new photo frames and consider methodologies for their creation. They will then proceed to produce actual prototypes of their frames before the second session.
The second session, on Thursday, June 26, will feature a critique of the frames produced by the participants.
