Opening of "Teshi-goto," a shop proposing a life with Mingei
A soft, hand-blown glass for your morning water. Colorful tableware that conveys the warmth of the hand, for your daily dining table.―The shop "Teshi-goto," which opened a 3-minute walk from Oyama-dai Station on the Tokyu Oimachi Line, is produced by Keiichi Kuno, supervisor of Graphicsha's "Mingei Textbook" and owner of the craft shop "Moyai Koge" in Kamakura. It introduces excellent handicrafts selected from the perspective of "Mingei" among the items still made throughout Japan.

A Venue for "Teshi-goto Forum"
"Teshi-goto" proposes a lifestyle that incorporates "Mingei - sound and healthy handicrafts" suitable for modern lifestyles, and introduces and sells excellent handicrafts from all over Japan. It opened as part of the activities of the "Teshi-goto Forum," which works to protect and nurture Japanese handicrafts that are fading with time.
The Teshi-goto Forum is a voluntary organization composed of approximately 350 artisans and users, with the aim of disseminating the wonderfulness of a life that incorporates handicrafts. For 12 years, it has been disseminating information about the excellence of handicrafts, how to appreciate them, the work of artisans and their lives, and suggestions for incorporating them into daily life through its website, exhibitions, and study sessions.
Keiichi Kuno, representative of the Teshi-goto Forum, has spent two-thirds of his year for the past 40 years traveling to handicraft production sites across Japan, engaging in procurement, research, and artisan production.
We offer products from kilns such as Arita ware Dainichi Kiln, Koishiwara ware Tetsuzo & Kei Otada, Jun Otada Hand-blown Glass Studio, Shokuda Kiln, and Yomitan-yaki Kita Kiln, which adhere to the spirit of folk kilns, continue to produce sincere work, and create excellent products that embody "beauty in utility" amidst simplicity.
