Introducing a Wall Mirror with a Detachable Hand Mirror
MicroWorks, the design studio label led by product designer Shunsuke Umiyama, is known for its conceptual designs that resolve everyday inconveniences and issues with the power of design, enriching daily life with joy. These designs have garnered a devoted following among both men and women. Now, their debut work, "Jump Out Mirror," is being re-released for the first time in approximately a decade.

Three Types of Detachable Designs
For women, a hand mirror is not only frequently used but also often a challenge to store due to its size. The "Jump Out Mirror" solves this problem. The idea is that the most fitting place for a hand mirror is "within the mirror itself." Based on this concept, a simple wall mirror is integrated with a handheld mirror featuring a handle.
When the hand mirror is in place, it functions as a wall mirror. However, it's attached by magnets, allowing it to be easily detached for use. This integration not only resolves the issue of where to place the hand mirror but also makes it simple to use for creating a mirrored reflection.

The Jump Out Mirror uses an acrylic mirror to prevent breakage and injury in case of accidental drops. If the surface becomes dirty, it can be easily cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent.
The hand mirror comes in three shapes: the circular "Circle," the decoratively silhouetted "Square," and "HandDrawing," which is based on freehand lines digitized into data. The mirror can be installed either vertically or horizontally, allowing for placement according to the surrounding environment, such as the available wall space. It can also be leaned against a shelf or desk.
