Popular Classic Collaboration Items Renewed

The "MOOMIN×amabro SOMETSUKE" series features items that depict the world of "Moomin" through paintings on choko (small cups) and tesara (small plates), using the gosu sometsuke (cobalt blue underglaze) technique commonly used for ceramics like Arita ware. The Moomin world painted on choko and tesara, familiar to the Japanese, creates a fresh perspective that transcends both Japanese and Western categorization. Since its debut last year, the series has become a popular product for amabro.

The "SOMETSUKE - Choko" are soba choko based on traditional Japanese auspicious motifs. The patterns are "Holiday," "Hide and seek," and "Playtime." The designs, drawn in blue lines on white porcelain, evoke nostalgia while also bringing to mind stories from Moomin Valley.

The "SOMETSUKE - Tesara" are small plates adorned with patterns often used in sometsuke ceramics. There are five types of designs. The patterns that encircle the rim are themed around each character. The choko and tesara are available for purchase individually or as a complete set of all designs.
