Two Steinway Models Released as World Limited Editions
Montblanc's Patron Series is a collection that pays homage to great patrons throughout history. For this new release, the theme chosen is Henry E. Steinway, the great progenitor of concert pianos and a man passionate about supporting young musicians. Two fountain pen models will be released: a world limited edition of 888 pieces and a world limited edition of 4810 pieces.
"Patron Series 2014 Henry E. Steinway 888"
The "888 Limited Edition Version" features a substantial body in black and white, evoking piano keys, complemented by a 750 solid yellow gold cap. It represents Steinway's over-stringing system, one of their great inventions. The skeleton cap adds a touch of splendor.

The clip is inspired by the screw clamps used to shape the wood for the beautifully curved rims of grand pianos. It's a detail that reflects on the process of creating a perfect piano. The ring on the barrel's end is engraved with the familiar "Steinway & Sons" logo. The mother-of-pearl "White Star" and the portrait of Henry E. Steinway, engraved on the 750 solid gold nib, evoke his sincere character and enhance the joy of owning this special limited edition.

"Patron Series 2014 Henry E. Steinway 4810"
The "4810 Limited Edition Version" features a deep, mirror-like gloss in black lacquer, recreating the lustrous ebony of a grand piano. The cap, finished in yellow gold, is inspired by the over-stringing system of pianos, with intersecting curves that evoke the unique beauty of a grand piano.

Similar to the 888 limited edition, the barrel end ring is engraved with "Steinway & Sons," and Henry E. Steinway's portrait is depicted on the 750 solid gold nib. The patented screw clamp serves as the clip, and the "White Star" on the cap top is crafted from black and white precious resin.
