"BIRDHOUSE" is a lifestyle select shop that presents a richer, more fulfilling work and lifestyle, offering men's and women's fashion and accessories, as well as carefully selected goods from around the world, art and crafts, houseplants, succulents, and garden plan proposals.
Based in Aoyama, Tokyo, it is also popular as a "pop-up department store" that unfolds with a unique editorial vision, serving as a source of inspiration for creators and artists.
In collaboration with the plant shop "Qusamura," this event will feature approximately 100 items for exhibition and sale, including about 15 newly created works titled "sumika" (pieces where plants are arranged in iron vessels handcrafted one by one, inspired by birdcages).

A plant shop that proposes a unique beauty with the concept of "plants with a good face." The owner personally travels throughout Japan to gather individualistic plants, which are then presented along with vessels that highlight their unique characteristics. The shop's name comes from the owner's habit of calling the places where he finds plants "kusamura" (grasslands). In places that appear to be mere clumps of grass to ordinary people, there can lie hidden unique beauty. The "Q" in "Qusamura" is taken from "Question." It carries the wish that when encountering Qusamura's distinctive plants, people will first feel a sense of wonder, asking "What is this?" and enter the world of Qusamura through this "?".

Kohei Oda
Owner of "Qusamura." Born in Hiroshima. In his 20s, he was moved by the sight of a flower artist handling the spatial design of a select shop during a trip to Paris. In January 2012, he opened "Qusamura," a plant shop pursuing its own unique beauty with the concept of "plants with a good face." In addition to proposing individualistic plants, mainly succulents, along with vessels that highlight their characteristics, he also engages in a wide range of spatial design using plants, including installations and landscaping.
