What is "Imabari Yokkin"?
Towels, once affectionately called "yokkin," have been given the name of Imabari, Japan's largest towel production area. With the aspiration to "convey the craftsmanship of good old traditions to the present day," the towel boutique "Imabari Yokkin" was born. The "Imabari Yokkin Yokohama Motomachi Store," the third of its kind, has opened as a flagship store.
Imabari towels are known for their durability, excellent absorbency, and soft, pleasant feel. Maruei Towel pursues "authentic towels" that Imabari is proud of, continuing to craft them by hand.
The spacious 32-tsubo factory direct store, "Imabari Yokkin Yokohama Motomachi Store," exudes a classic charm befitting Motomachi. It offers a wide range of products, including not only towels but also sewn goods such as gowns, towel dresses, and aprons, as well as organic cotton series, gowns made with the finest Egyptian cotton, and bedspreads.
Led by the main house brand "idee Zora," the store is ideal for gifts such as wedding favors and celebratory presents. Some of the gowns and towels, popular at the directly managed "Marunouchi Store" located within the Palace Hotel in Tokyo, are even used in the hotel rooms, attesting to their high reputation.
