From Unseen Works to Previews of Next Spring's Exhibition: A Comprehensive Showcase!
This exhibition, "50projects _ 25objects+25spaces," features works previously exhibited in museums and galleries in New York, Paris, London, Milan, Rome, Atlanta, Taiwan, and Beijing, but never before shown in Japan. Highlights include the "cabbage-chair," permanently acquired by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in 2007, works from the "thin black lines" solo exhibition held at London's Serpentine Gallery last autumn, and the "cord-chair," acquired by the Centre Pompidou and the Victoria and Albert Museum this year.
Additionally, the exhibition will offer a preview of works for upcoming solo exhibitions in Paris next January, and unveil new pieces from nendo's original project "one percent products" for the first time in five years.
The gallery on the basement 1st floor will present 1:30 scale models of ongoing projects, including the renovation plan for Milan's premier department store 'La Rinascente,' store designs for 'PUMA HOUSE TOKYO' and '24 ISSEY MIYAKE,' and the venue design for the highly acclaimed "Hirata Noboushi Exhibition" held at Aoyama Spiral this spring.
Furthermore, the latest collection of works, "Kaminendo 5: nendo works 2010-2011" (ADP Publishing), is scheduled to be released at the venue.
