Discover a New Finnish Classic!
Tableware from Tonfisk Design
Founded by two students from the University of Art and Design Helsinki, Tonfisk Design has spent 12 years establishing itself as a ceramic manufacturer. We'd like to introduce six classic pieces from its signature "WARM" series, imbued with handmade warmth and an unwavering design philosophy.

Design Where Form Follows Function
Frank Lloyd Wright's mentor and Chicago School architect Louis Sullivan famously stated, "Form follows function." Tonfisk Design can be seen as a successor to this functionalist principle.
The "WARM" series is designed so that water droplets do not cling to the table, doubling as coasters. Furthermore, the wooden handles ensure that hot beverages can be enjoyed comfortably without transferring heat. Using these pieces in practice truly lets you appreciate their design philosophy.
Tonfisk Design's products are characterized by their unadorned, clean, and simple forms, often combined with natural materials like cork and plywood. This use of materials softens their inorganic appearance, lending a sense of approachability to dining tables and kitchens.
Their reputation now extends beyond Finland, with collections housed in museums such as "Les Arts Decoratifs" within the Louvre Palace in Paris, and featured prominently in design media worldwide.
In a landscape where new brands and products constantly emerge and disappear, the few brands that maintain their stance, unaffected by consumption trends or fads, are undoubtedly becoming the new "Finnish Classics."
