A modern reimagining of the classic in-flight meal tray. SEKISAKA launches its new 'PLACE' series.
SEKISAKA
SEKISAKA is a collaborative brand between a manufacturer with diverse production technologies, rooted in 300 years of lacquerware craftsmanship, and designers active both domestically and internationally. They are launching the 'PLACE' series of trays, which have a paper-like texture, and will release the 'Dripping Collection,' featuring a striking paint-splatter dripping pattern, in late April.

Dripping Pattern Doubles as Non-Slip Surface
This series is a modern reinterpretation of the trays that SEKISAKA Co., Ltd., the parent company of 'SEKISAKA,' has been manufacturing for years as an OEM supplier for in-flight meals, utilizing their established technology.
Kenji Ito (MUTE) is responsible for the product design, and Junichiro Yokota (JUNICHIRO YOKOTA STUDIO) for the color design. The patterns, created by artisans using spray painting, serve not only as decoration but also as a functional non-slip surface to prevent items placed on top from sliding.
Available in three sizes—B5, A4, and B4—and ten color variations, these trays can be used in a wide range of settings, complementing both Japanese and Western styles. They are also compatible with commercial dishwashers, making them ideal for use in cafes and hotels.
