Artek Unveils Snap Pads in New Colors Inspired by Alvar Aalto's Siena

Postalco for Artek

A Postalco Pop-Up Event Begins March 20th. In Spring 2021, three new colors are added to "Siena," a textile pattern designed by Alvar Aalto.

"Siena," a textile pattern designed by Alvar Aalto in 1954. This popular pattern, inspired by the Italian cityscape and Siena Cathedral visited by the Aalto couple, welcomes new colors this spring. Introducing the Snap Pad by Postalco, created using three new colors and the existing black.

Among the three colors, which extract elements from architecture and translate them into textiles, is a revived pattern once affectionately known as "Shadow Siena." This pattern features overlapping Siena colors that appear like shadows, and is planned to be available in five colors, including the new shades.
To commemorate this launch, a "Snap Pad" using Siena has been released in collaboration with Postalco, a Tokyo-based brand.
The "Snap Pad" is a staple stationery item from Postalco. The "Snap Pad for Artek" being released this time is a masterpiece, with each one meticulously hand-upholstered with Siena fabric, and the inner paper color carefully selected to complement the fabric.
These special Snap Pads, born from the exquisite craftsmanship of Japanese artisans, are available in four colors, including the three new shades. From the launch date of Saturday, March 20th, a Postalco Pop-Up event will also be held at the Artek Tokyo Store in Omotesando and the Artek Webstore.
