The Italian design collective "Memphis," which dominated the design world in the 1980s.
Peter Shire, a former member of Memphis, now heads the design studio "Echo Park Pottery" in Los Angeles, focusing on ceramic works such as mugs and pots.
"Swimsuit Department," the studio's representative in Japan, commissioned a bespoke item. The result is a planter that shines with its post-modern-inspired forms and innovative color palette.
With a drainage hole at the bottom, functionality has also been considered. The diverse glazes will complement plants while adding impact to any space.
