New products from the Hasami Ware brand BARBAR are drawing attention.
The "ARTIST SUSHIYUNOMI" sushi yunomi are a collaboration with five emerging artists. To highlight each artist's graphic style, different glazes are used for each pattern, printed using techniques such as overglaze transfer and copperplate transfer.
Tokyo-based contemporary artist yamase mayumi expresses hand-drawn graphics with the theme "slurp." The overall finish is in soft, pale tones.
California-based artist Lilian Martinez's playful illustrations reflect issues of human rights for women of color and historical context, which are foundational to her work.
Graphic designer Kentō Itaka depicts an underwater world on a black matte body, while illustrator Shuntaro Takeuchi prints the striking illustration "HANDPOWER." The font has a matte texture, and the hand illustration has a glossy finish, offering different textures.
Illustrator NONCHELEEE, active in Fukuoka, challenges the possibilities of copperplate transfer. Individual variations like blurring and bleeding can be enjoyed as unique characteristics, much like his illustrations.
The "ARTIST SUSHIYUNOMI," a creation by five artists, is sure to brighten any dining table.
