Artek Tokyo Store | Alvar Aalto Foundation
First Reproductions from the Alvar Aalto Foundation's Collection, Original Size
Alvar Aalto (1898-1976), revered as the “Sage of Finland,” created numerous masterpieces of Nordic design. The Alvar Aalto Foundation has released the “Alvar Aalto Art Poster” series.

The “Alvar Aalto Art Poster” series features reproductions of exhibition posters related to Alvar Aalto’s architecture, presented in their original sizes.
This collection encompasses major architectural exhibitions held between the 1960s and 1990s. As the original printing plates no longer exist, these posters were meticulously reproduced in the same size as the original prints held in museum collections.
According to Tomi Lind, Director of the Alvar Aalto Foundation, “Particularly outstanding among these is the poster for ‘Alvar Aalto Palazzo Strozzi,’ held in Florence, Italy, in 1965.
The main visual is a sketch by Alvar Aalto, drawn in red chalk, depicting the organically curved walls of the Aalto Studio.”
Both Artek Tokyo Store and Artek Wrebstore are selling a wide selection of this series, presented rolled in tubes.
These items are not only valuable for Aalto collectors and researchers but also offer a glimpse into the evolution of graphic design across different eras through the posters’ visual language.
