BARBAR

Unconventional proposals meet time-honored craftsmanship.

BARBAR, based in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture—a renowned pottery region—offers highly versatile ceramics. They have recently collaborated with "Hashikura Matsukan," a long-established chopstick maker, to release original chopsticks.

BARBAR's "Sobachoko Encyclopedia: Rainbow" is a popular series known for its practicality as a free cup, its vibrant colors, and its unique, ironware-like texture.
The "Rainbow Chopsticks" recreate the color and texture of this series.
The coating, made with acrylic urethane resin, achieves a quality so convincing that one might mistake it for actual pottery, thanks to repeated color-tuning.
The thicker, triangular handle also fits comfortably in the hand.
Produced by "Hashikura Matsukan," based in Obama City, Fukui Prefecture—a renowned center for Wakasa lacquerware—these chopsticks showcase meticulous craftsmanship in every detail. They are also recommended as a gift, perhaps paired with a sobachoko cup.
