New Creations Full of Experimental Spirit from a Ceramic Designer's Self-Made Brand | REDUCTION FACTORY

REDUCTION FACTORY

Subtle Variations in Appearance Due to Firing Temperature Differences. Beauty Like an Art Piece.

This self-made brand is where Kaotaro Abe, who was involved in the development of the ceramic series "HASAMI PORCELAIN" and "Common," handles all processes: forming, glazing, and firing.

Kaotaro Abe is a ceramic designer who has been involved in the development of numerous products and is known as a key figure in the industry.
REDUCTION FACTORY was launched by Abe in 2016 with the desire to reflect his work as a designer by personally handling all stages of ceramic production, including forming, glazing, and firing.
The newly released "Layered" series explores the theme of irregularities in the production process.
While maintaining a uniform form, subtle differences in firing temperature create individual variations on the surface, resulting in pieces that are as practical as they are artful.
The aesthetic can be described as a fusion of form and the designer's experimental spirit. This series comprises a total of 16 shapes, including mugs, plates, and flower vases.
