ZINE culture, a tool and medium for individual and artistic expression, has been gaining recognition in recent years. "ZINE SONIC 2019 - THE RISE OF ZINESTER -," an interactive event where you can experience this culture firsthand, will be held from Friday, November 22nd, at the gallery space "BRICK & MORTAR" in Nakameguro.

Curated by the gallery space "BRICK & MORTAR" and the Komazawa bookstore "SNOW SHOVELING," this marks the sixth iteration of the event. This year, too, the event offers content that allows both participants and visitors to enjoy themselves through the lens of zines.

"ZINE WALL" invites artists to create zines within a given theme, format, and price point. This year's theme is "Freedom of Expression," drawing attention to interpretations and diversity within constraints.

In the corner called "ZINESTER'S DESK," visitors can create their own zines using provided materials and tools. By giving form to their immediate impulses, attendees can transition from being viewers to creators.

Furthermore, this year features a collaboration with "She is," an interactive life & culture community. A pop-up event featuring curated zines and gifts, along with talks, is planned by the community that celebrates women living authentically. For details,check BRICK & MORTAR's Instagram.
