The Creative Festival "AnyTokyo" Returns After Four Years. Theme: "Crazy Futures"

Launched in 2013, "AnyTokyo" is a creative festival where artists, scientists, designers, and entrepreneurs confront unpredictable futures and attempt to output their visions. This year, returning after four years, the event will be held at the historic "kudan house" (Kudan-kita, Tokyo). The first wave of exhibitors has been announced.

Wisdom Converges, Overlaps, and Melts. A Festival for Challenging the Future.

Product, fashion, interior design, architecture, robotics, communication… Breaking down these genres, "AnyTokyo" returns after four years to serve as a platform for enriched living and the future.
The theme for 2019 is "Crazy Futures / Possible Futures." The first group of eight exhibitors tackling this challenge has been announced.

[Selected Works]
echo | echo project
Through dialogues about senses, Akira Hiyama of Dialog in the Dark and Rhizomatiks Research, along with Anrealage, have created clothing that resonates with space under the theme of "echo." The garments themselves emit signals, perceiving the space by measuring distance, and their reactions return to us as vibrations. An exhibition to experience a new way of perceiving space.
altag | mmm
In physical space, sound arises at the interface of moving objects, shaping their contours. In contrast, "altag" is an attempt to re-envision our perception of the world, centered on sound, by assigning and naming sounds to space. It reconstructs the emotions, sounds, and temporal distortions that have lingered in private spaces, allowing us to traverse time within the space.
Unplugged Appliances | Yoshiki Matsuyama
There are appliances that fade away with the changes of the times. What replaces them need not be new appliances. Instead of overwriting the resulting void with new technology for convenience or efficiency, what if we could fill it with simpler, smaller joys? A series of shelves and cabinets that evoke the memory of past appliances.
Alongside the exhibitions, talk events will be held at the venue, providing a space for passionate discussions about the future. The second wave of exhibitors is scheduled to be announced in early November.
