The participating artists will be present
Shoji Morinaga, who has his studio in Kagoshima, presents "Blue Work," an exhibition of approximately 100 experimental pieces featuring indigo dyeing applied to wood bowls he created. With the cooperation of "Aulico," a Kagoshima-based company specializing in indigo dyeing, the wood bowls, perfected after numerous trials, are a must-see. The artist will be present until December 16th (Mon).
And then there's "samulo," also based in Kagoshima. The materials used in their jewelry range widely in country and era, including ancient stones unearthed in deserts, silver coins, and glass distributed during 19th-century church masses.
These are reassembled with a unique sensibility, emitting an indefinable radiance that is neither new nor antique. The artist will be present until December 22nd (Sun).
This exhibition offers an opportunity to engage not only with the displayed works but also with the stories behind each artist. It is highly recommended to visit during the artists' in-residence periods.
