Winner of the Good Design Long Life Design Award “Special Prize”
ISSEY MIYAKE INC.'s “PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE,” a brand that has evolved pleats into lightweight, easy-to-wear, and manageable products, masterfully blending creation, technology, and business. This brand has now received the “Special Prize” at the 2013 Good Design Long Life Design Awards, organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.

First Award for Apparel
The Good Design Long Life Design Award seeks to rediscover designs that have been refined by consumers and re-examine them from today's perspective, selecting designs that “have shaped our lives and should continue to play that role.” Selections are made from products and designs that have been continuously offered for over 10 years since their launch and are believed to have gained the support of users and consumers.
Until November 13 (Wednesday), the “Good Design Long Life Design 2013 in LOFT” exhibition is being held on the 6th floor of Shibuya Loft, showcasing and selling this year's award-winning Long Life Design products alongside past recipients that have left a mark on our daily lives.
