Lisa Larson's Hasami Ware "Vase" Released

Ceramic artist Lisa Larson, known for her endearing animal sculptures, continues to be remarkably active at 82, recently reissuing past works and unveiling new art pieces. Now, a vase design she had nurtured for years has been brought to life as a product through Hasami ware from Nagasaki.

The "Vase" Namesake Comes from Lisa's Grandchildren
When one mentions Lisa Larson, many likely first picture her animal sculptures of lions, cats, dogs, and birds. However, the newly released "FREJA & HILDA" features a minimalist form, characterized by the combination of two simple vases. The central sections are accented with red, blue, gold, and silver, providing a subtle yet elegant touch. FREJA and HILDA are common Swedish female names, and they are modeled after Lisa Larson's own grandchildren.

Lisa Larson's signature is printed on the base.

For this product realization, Nishiyama Pottery, a company with approximately 150 years of history in Nagasaki Prefecture, provided full cooperation. The Osaka-based interior shop, dieci, acted as the intermediary, bringing Lisa's long-held designs to fruition. Lisa's signature is also printed on the bottom of the products.

While perfect for use as vases, the "FREJA & HILDA" pieces are equally beautiful as standalone objets d'art. How about gracing your tabletop with them?
